Accompanied by some of the worlds best musicians, the Carver story continues on a whole new level.
There just don't seem to be enough adjectives or superlatives to describe singer songwriter Lisa Carver to those who have yet to experience her talent. Mainly because there are so many components that contribute to her very special creativity. She is quirky, soulful, hilarious, intense, deep, magical and mythical. She brings everything to the table and leaves nothing behind.

Carver is one of the most respected and revered songwriters in Nashville. A lot of that has to do with the fact that not only can she write a hit song for other artists (which she has done several times), but she also writes absolutely astonishing songs from her heart and soul without even the slightest nod to commercial viability. A risk that frustrates publishers and keeps her artistic integrity beyond reproach. Lisa Carver has harnessed and mastered the the power of crafting a song that can hold an audience in awe or delight with only a smokey sultry voice and an acoustic guitar.

Lisa is most comfortable and happy working on the fringe while honing her craft. She has been diligently writing Americana songs long before the media ever gave the genre a title. Carver is a storyteller who breathes life in and out of the characters that inhabit her songs of love, heartache, longing, hope, cheating, and infamously enough; murder! If you think messing with Taylor Swift and ending up in a song is dangerous, you ain't heard nothing yet darlin'.

"This Year" is Carver's first full fledged studio recording as an artist. Producer Jim Tract painstakingly designed this work of art to portray an emphatic ex- perience. He hand picked some of the best musicians in the world and con- veyed to them the personal importance of this endeavor for him and for Adroit Records. "We don't make product," he told them, "we make art! We are honored and privileged to have Lisa Carver as an artist on Adroit Records." "The creative process here was a very special experience. It is rare that a producer or musician gets songs of such magnitude to work with. We went old school and recorded to tape in an analog studio with all the players in the room at the same time. The energy in that studio was very, very special. I think it is completely evident in the finished product. Lisa Carver is a trip!" says Tract.

Carver herself sums it up this way. "I want to write a song that feels to me like 'To Kill A Mockingbird' must have felt to Harper Lee." We believe she has accomplished this dream several times over, and most importantly, we feel you too will agree.
